Space shuttle Atlantis successfully launched from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Monday afternoon.
The shuttle is heading to the International Space Station.
The 11-day flight is expected to keep the astronauts in orbit through Thanksgiving. They plan to unload nearly 30,000 pounds of equipment including pumps, tanks and other spare parts.
NASA wants to stockpile as much equipment there as possible before the shuttle fleet is retired next year.
They will return to Earth with a seventh astronaut, Nicole Stott, who's
been living at the space station for nearly three months.
